Orange Shirts and Sweatshirts Now Available

Congratulations to our student artist, Cash, who designed the logo for this year's orange shirt and sweatshirts. 

Cash - Artist's Statement 

"My motivation for this design came after first hearing Phyllis Webstad’s story; I was motivated and moved. My emotions took me and put my thoughts in her shoes I started thinking how would I feel if a stranger took an item of significance and threw it away as if it were nothing. It truly disgusted me to know that another human could think that they hold that much power.

My artwork includes a hummingbird which is known in my nations to be a doctoring bird, one that can stitch up old wounds and impurities. It is also a small and tough animal that can go long distances and endure lots. The raven, which is an important messenger of impending danger or truth that must be faced or exposed. The eagle symbolizes the strength of our community and how they tried to break us apart, but we are still here, the salmon is a sign of resilience and renewal in life. The ancestor is so that we know that no matter what we are not alone."
